American Idol XV: We Rank The Top 3
And there you have it folks – we are down to the Final 3. Who is going to stand under the confetti shower and walk away with the title of the Last American Idol?
We still have 4 days to ponder over that so let’s get the last ever American Idol Power Ranking out of the way!
R: Dalton Rapattoni
I have had a hard time with this kid. All the potential I see did not really come to fruition as yet, and at this stage of the competition, you'd think the ship has sailed. With his talent and his body of work this season, I cannot place him in the Top 2. His fans might just get him there, but he's not in the same league. I like him, though, and he could be a star, but that's not reason enough.
J: Dalton Rapattoni
I REALLY wanted Dalton to be in the Top 2 but I don't see it happening. Between his inconsistent performances and somewhat questionable song choices (thank you Scott & judges) he is pretty much doomed unless his fans pull one hell of an upset. It irks me that the viewers complain about Dalton's back story and tears while they eat up La'Porsha's with a smile (being bipolar isn't a choice in case you wondered). Dalton has great potential and I don't think the end of his Idols journey will mark the end of his career.
#2
R: Trent Harmon
Trent's my winner. He has come out of nowhere to deliver fantastic and beautiful performances each time, his unique voice elevating him above the rest. Be it Country, or Soul, or even some classic Rock, his voice has shined. Out of the three, he'd be the best fit for Big Machine Records, and American Idol deserves a final winner who could sell some music. Because of his late reign of dominance, he might just miss out on a spot in the finale, but let's see.
J: La'Porsha Renae
La’Porsha will possibly win it all but I am still secretly hoping for a Trent upset. There is no denying that she is immensely talented and seems like a sweet girl too but I cannot listen to another abused-woman back story! Her song choices have been pretty much spot-on and have tied in with her back-story remarkably well. Is she deserving of the title? For sure! Do I want her to win? No. I prefer the boys.
R: La'Porsha Renae
It was a pretty tough decision, but I went back to the ol' faithful for my final power ranking. Renae's been the frontrunner all season, and after renditions of a black empowerment anthem and a song from the biggest artist in the world, namely Adele, paired with her abusive past (brought up again last week with her visit to a women's shelter), it's hard not to see her as the winner the producers want. Huge voice, big personality, touching story. It's basically Fantasia. She deserves a spot in the Top 2, but she might just win it all, and there's no reason she shouldn't.
J: Trent Harmon
I’m going to go out on a limb and back Trent for the win. I pray that he steers clear of Country Music but believe that he has the best chance of being a commercial success regardless. He might not have peaked till the final weeks of the competition but he has been a serious contender since the onset of the competition. Trent has the All-American Boy thing going for him and that has endeared him to a very large and diverse fan base. Does Trent have what it takes to win it all? YES!
Do you agree with how we ranked the remaining 3 contestants? Who do you think is going to walk away with the title? Tune in this Tuesday night as the 3-Night Finale commences!
