Idols South Africa Power Ranking: We Rank The Top 4
We’re left with four: 3 dudes and 1 girl. Who’ll win the title and become the winner of this season of Idols SA? We’re getting closer to the not so surprising reveal.
Ranking the remaining 4 was actually a pretty tough ask, as you can see from the clear differences between our order, but we agree on who will be #1. Let’s just get on with it.
Reinhardt: Siphelele Ngcobo – at this stage of the competition one needs to look at the overall picture. The overall picture for Siphelele isn’t as strong as the overall picture for the other 3. They’ve all been consistently better than Siphelele, and deserve their places more. Siphelele gave it a really good go, but he should be the one packing his bags.
Justine: Mmatema Moremi – It devastates me to rank Mmatema this low but it is pointless to ignore all the negativity aimed at her on social media. She is clearly not the judges' pick either. I wouldn't be surprised if she is eliminated on Sunday ahead of Rhema who, in all honesty, should have left a long time ago.
Reinhardt: Mmatema Moremi – this girl deserves to be in the final 2, no doubt about that. She deserves her place in the finale, but viewers don’t like her. I can’t fathom why, but women hating other women is a regular occurrence – I can’t even take a stab at why. It boggles the mind. Mmatema has the voice, the look, and the star potential that guys like Siphelele and Rhema completely miss. I want her in the final 2 with Karabo.
Justine: Rhema Varrie – At this point in time I wouldn't be surprised if Rhema is in the finale. He has been hailed the best thing since Karin Kortje and who knows, he could even win the whole shebang in the end!
Reinhardt: Rhema Varrie – on Sunday Rhema proved two things: he has a really good voice, based on his performance of “I’d Rather Go Blind”, and he’s not a star, based on his performance of “Sexual Healing”. That much was clear. He sings the songs viewers like and he has the personality girls like to vote for, so he’s pretty much safe. I can see him in the finale. If he wins, though, poor Idols.
Justine: Siphelele Ngcobo – Well look at this! After being ranked in last place for a number of weeks Siphelele has made his way up to #2. Although not the most talked about on social media it is no secret that both the judges and the audience adore him. Should he survive Sunday's elimination we could have a real competition on our hands!
Reinhardt: Karabo Mogane – the only guy worthy of the title. He’s proven he’s a good singer, he has nailed some surprising song choices, he surprised everyone with his dancing during Showstopper week, and he has charisma the other guys lack. There’s no way that Rhema or Siphelele should beat him. He’s in a different league.
Justine: Karabo Mogane – Karabo has firmly cemented himself into the #1 spot. He started out the race in front and will more than likely finish it in the same style. I'm still rather hoping for a bit of an upset though, just to keep things interesting!
