Idols South Africa: Top 6 Songs Revealed


It is hard to believe that Idols SA Season 11 is just about halfway through the Top 10. Only 6 contestants will be left standing by the end of this week’s Spectacular. Did you vote for your favourite? Who will be smiling and who will leave the stage amidst a flood of tears?

This week’s musical theme is “The 90’s vs Today” with each contestant performing a 1990s hit as well as a hit from the world’s current music charts. Here are the songs the contestants chose to perform: Amanda Antony (22) from Port Elizabeth is isnging Mary J Blige’s “I’m Goin’ Down” as her Nineties hit, and Sia’s “Big Girls Cry” for her current hit. Dineo Moseki (22) from Vryburg chose Lauryn Hill’s “Ex-Factor” as her Nineties song and Beatenberg’s “Rafael” from the current charts. Karabo Mogane (24) from Mbombela is performing the Boys II Men classic “Water Runs Dry” and from Hozier’s “Someone New”. Loyiso Gijana (16) from Uitenhage chose the Boyz II Men track “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday” . His 2015 hit is “Hold Back The River” by James Bay. Mmatema Moremi (23) from Limpopo is singing Deborah Cox’s “Nobody’s Supposed To Be Here” and Jess Glynne’s hit, “Hold My Hand”. Rhema Varrie (21) from Alberton has chosen Radiohead’s “High And Dry” for his hit from the Nineties while his current selection is One Republic’s “Counting Stars”. Siphelele Ngcobo (24) from Inanda is singing the classic All 4 One hit “I Can Love You Like That” and Nathi’s “Nomvula” for his current hit. Voting will open during Sunday’s show and closes at 22:00 on Tuesday, 20 October.
