Idols South Africa: It Was A Louw Blow
The Idols South Africa Top 16 announcement proved to be an emotional affair for contestants and viewers alike as many a fan favorite was forced to take the dreaded walk-of-shame. Outraged fans took to social media to express their disdain for the judges' decisions and while plenty of talent remains the mourning period for those that left is sure to last a while.
I got chatting to Tebogo Louw, a firm favorite who, for the second year running didn't make the Top 16 cut. To say that the public was shocked by your elimination is an understatement.
What went through your head when you were told for a second year running that you did not make it into the Top 16? I won't lie and say I wasn't hurt, because I was. But I mean the second time you get eliminated starts to feel like maybe I'm not what they want. I don't doubt my talent or what I have to offer, its an experience I'll never forget. Would you ever audition for Idols again? What about the newly announced 'The Voice South Africa' that is hitting our shores soon? I have nothing against idols and maybe in the future I would audition again but for now I think I should just try other avenues and hey The Voice could be exciting. Do you think, realistically speaking, that Idols South Africa could see its first female winner since Season 4? Musically there definitely could be a female winner this year. I guess that's all up to SA's votes and who wants it more. What is the next step for you? Any plans for the forseeable future? As far as Tebogo Louw is concerned I just gotta hit the studio and Give the People want they want.... Im busy working on 3 singles and it will be out in due time.... There was a collective social media outrage when you were eliminated. Do you have a message for your fans? The message I have for my FoLouwers is that my elimination was painful but so many great things have come out of pain, so stay focused there's always someone out there watching.
