Aquarius - NBC's New Drama - Hit or Miss?

After Showtime cancelled long time running Californication a lot of David Duchovny fans have been waiting to see what he will take on next. The X-Files star has finally made his choice. NBC’s new 60’s Drama, Aquarius aired its first episode on 28 May 2015 to the world and received a luke-warm reception. And I have to agree with the peeps out there. Like any self-respecting reader I have learnt not to judge a book by its cover, and so I have also learnt not to judge a series by its first episode. So I will reserve my ‘last word’ until I have seen the next episode.

The series does have an interesting premise though. David Duchovny, playing a police sergeant name Sam Hodiak is put on an unofficial case to find a missing daughter of an old friend. Things get a little complicated and he calls in the help of an undercover cop Brian Shafe (played by up and comer Grey Damon from Starcrossed) to breach the ‘hippie’ barrier. Brian and a female officer Charmaine Tully (Claire Holt) end up discovering the mad man behind the disappearance of the daughter is none other than the infamous Charles Manson.

After a slow pilot that showed some promise I look forward to seeing the next episode if for no other reason than to know if NBC have a hit on their hands or not. Luckily NBC is not making us wait too long and the entire series is available for streaming on their website. Episodes will however still be aired every Thursday at 9pm Eastern time.

Curious? Hit back in a week to see what they come up with next.
