Game Review: The Sims 4 by EA Games
Sims 4 is a new and maybe not so improved version of the well loved and played Sims 3. The creators did quite a bit to change the gameplay on this one. Some of the elements are really improved where others not so much. Let's start with the improved elements first shall we?
New and improved Creat-A-Sim. It's a great way to adjust just about every single body part. Waist line, hips, legs, arms, and yes boys... the breasts. Just about every thing on your sim can now be customized and I found myself stuck on this feature for an hour at least. Beware though... It is not really all that user friendly your first time out on the block.
Improved graphics and a lot more skills to play with. The graphics are really clear and crisp. New skills and stranger needs and moodlets make for unique actions. Confused, uncomfortable or embarresed sims can do unique actions that they normally would not have access to.
Two neigbourhoods to choose from. Oasis Springs and Willow Creek. And yes, even though you now have a brand new neighbourhood... lets point out how tiny they are shall we?
Now lets get to the not so nice...
The game play is incredibly static. There are so much less drama, no community events. The community lots are so few and far between. And so many of our usual fun elements have been left out... Can you say toddlers? Hot Tubs? Dissapointing.
The entire game is just left to feel a little bare. But if The Sims history is anything to go by then pretty soon there will be expansion packs and a lot more for us to play with.
